You can choose the area by municipals or individual area code. You can make your choices either on the map or on the menu at the left side.
Your choices will appear on the map by some blue colour. On the menu side you can see the number of households, which are included into your selection. The command to delete chosen areas is also available on the menu.
(Please note that the area code lines do not follow exactly the municipal lines. The actual distribution district is somewhat smaller than the area code districts. However the municipal and area code lines will help you to get a directional idea of your distribution area.)
There are two ways to execute the search. From the list you can choose all areas in Finland or limit your selection to large areas, regions or smaller sub-regions. The search function will suggest you the name of the municipal after typing in first letters. You can also search by area code or a single address, for example: “Hankasuontie 3, Helsinki”. Press enter to start the search.
In the menu you can add or remove municipals one by one or by entire region.
By clicking “add” next to the municipal’s name it will be added to your selection. To choose an entire area select “add area”.
Next to the chosen municipal you will see the number of households into which your distribution will be executed to. This number is according to your selection and it can vary i.e. by the building type selection.
It might occur that you will get 0 as a search result. Number 0 indicates that the area is not a SSM area. In case you wish to include this area into your selection choose cover: extended area.
You can zoom in and out on the map by using the + and – functions on the left side. Basic zooming gives you the municipal lines and closer zooming will take you until area code level. The map can be moved with the arrows on the left hand side or by clicking and dragging with the mouse. It is also possible to zoom in on the map by holding shift and dragging with the mouse the selected area.
Choose a region or area code by one by one clicking. If you wish to eliminate already chosen area just click on it again.
More area codes can be selected by the circle tool, which can be activated with the pen figure. You can draw circles on the map and all the area codes within the circle will be added to your selection.
Chosen areas will be defined with different blue colours depending on the selected area cover.
